Hotel Medici is situated at number 96, Via Flavia. The surrounding are is famous for the suggestive Trevi Fountain, sophisticated Via Veneto and the alluring Spanish Steps. The main train station, Stazione Termini, is close by. Here, there are numerous bus services and the Metropolitana, Rome’s underground train system.

The Trevi Fountain is an exemplary high-Baroque fountain and one of Rome’s most visited monuments. It is the largest fountain in Rome and the water is supplied by one of the city’s earliest aqueducts. It is customary to throw a coin into the water, over your shoulder while facing away. Throw one an you’ll return to Rome, two and you’ll fall in love with an Italian a third and you’ll marry him or her!

The Via Veneto area is renowned for the dolce vita (sweet life) atmosphere of the 1960s when Italy and Rome was in the midst of the Economic Miracle. Piazza Barberini, created by Bernini in 1643, is home to the spectacular Fontana del Tritone featuring a Triton blowing a stream of water from a shell. Bernini was one of the most famous architects and Baroque sculptors in 17th century Rome.

A slightly bizarre but interesting attraction is the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Concezione - a somber 17th century church which featuring a peculiar display of the bones of 4000 monks used to decorate the walls between 1528 and 1870.
